Kitten Purchase Agreement - Maine Coon Catterys
01

Purpose of Sale

The kitten is sold strictly as a companion/pet unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the Seller. The Buyer agrees that the kitten shall not be used for breeding purposes unless breeding rights are specifically granted in a separate written agreement.
02

Health Guarantee

The Seller certifies that, to the best of their knowledge, the kitten is in good health at the time of sale and has received age-appropriate vaccinations and care.

The Buyer agrees to have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within seventy-two (72) hours of receiving the kitten. Failure to obtain a veterinary examination within this period voids the health guarantee.

If the veterinarian determines that the kitten has a serious illness or contagious disease present prior to sale, the Buyer must notify the Seller immediately and provide written documentation from the veterinarian.
03

Genetic Health Guarantee

The Seller provides a one (1) year guarantee against life-threatening congenital or hereditary defects from the date of purchase.

Should a licensed veterinarian diagnose the kitten with a life-threatening congenital defect during the guarantee period, the Buyer must provide:
  • A written veterinary report,
  • Supporting medical records, and
  • Any requested diagnostic documentation.
The Seller reserves the right to seek a second veterinary opinion at the Seller's expense.
04

Buyer Responsibilities

The Buyer agrees to provide the kitten with:
  • Proper nutrition and fresh water,
  • Safe and humane living conditions,
  • Regular veterinary care,
  • Necessary vaccinations and parasite prevention,
  • Proper socialization and attention.
The Buyer further agrees that the kitten will not be neglected, abused, abandoned, or used for illegal purposes.
05

Rehoming and Return Policy

Under no circumstances shall the kitten be surrendered to a shelter, rescue organization, pet store, laboratory, or research facility.

If the Buyer can no longer keep the kitten, the Seller must be notified immediately. The kitten shall either:
  • Be returned to the Seller, or
  • Be rehomed only with the Seller's written approval.
The Seller is not obligated to issue a refund for returned animals unless otherwise agreed in writing.
06

No Warranties

Except as expressly stated in this Agreement, the Seller makes no additional warranties or guarantees regarding the kitten's future size, temperament, breeding capability, or show quality.
07

Entire Agreement

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes any prior discussions or understandings.

Any modifications to this Agreement must be made in writing and signed by both parties.
